Results taken from air samples reveal that a body was decomposing in the trunk of a car driven by the mother of missing Florida toddler Caylee Anthony, a local TV station reported.

Detectives with cadaver dogs said in July they detected the smell of human decomposition coming from the trunk of the Pontiac that the mother, Casey Anthony, was driving when police began investigating the dispappearance of her little girl, who was last seen more than two months ago.

The University of Tennessee “Body Farm” conducted the tests on the car’s air samples Aug. 10, and on Wednesday their conclusion was released: a human corpse had been decomposing there, according to WESH-2 TV.

Back in July, Caylee’s grandmother Cindy Anthony initially made a frantic 911 call to report that her daughter’s car smelled like a dead body. She later said the scent just as easily could have been that of rotting pizza.

Casey Anthony, 22, remains a person of interest in her daughter’s disappearance on or around June 16. She has pleaded not guilty to charges of child neglect and lying to investigators. She is out on house arrest after posting a $500,000 bond and being released Aug. 21 after a month-long stint in the Orange County Jail.

Caylee was two years old when she vanished; her third birthday was Aug. 9.

The test results are reportedly the first scientific evidence that there was a corpse in Anthony’s vehicle.

Anthony has been offered a conditional immunity deal by authorities if she helps with the search, MYFOXOrlando.com reported, but she only has until Thursday to accept the deal, which is contigent upon concrete information that leads to the discovery of Caylee or her remains.

State Attorney’s Office spokeswoman Danielle Tavernier confirmed that Anthony had been invited to meet with authorities to “shed light” on the disappearance of her daughter. She declined further comment.

Also Wednesday, news emerged that a policeman was fired for allegedly lying about a rendezvous he had with Anthony.

Anthony Rusciano, a deputy with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, was terminated on the grounds that he wasn’t truthful about meeting Anthony at a party, detectives wrote in a memo obtained by MyFOXOrlando.com.

On Tuesday, 400 pages of case documents released by police revealed, among other new details, that Anthony wanted to give Caylee up for adoption before she was born, but her mother Cindy Anthony convinced her not to.

Anthony has maintained that a baby sitter kidnapped her daughter, but police say they don’t believe her. She didn’t report Caylee missing until about a month after she said she dropped her off at the sitter’s apartment.

It can be hard for pet parents to resist the sad eyes of their beloved pooch starring up at them begging for human food.

Sherry Woodward, an animal behavior consultant for Best Friends Animal Shelter, says giving in is a costly mistake. Best Friends is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping to rescue animals in distress. The organization led the rescue mission during Hurricane Katrina.

“I had an experience with a (Yorkshire terrier) that was given bacon every morning for breakfast,” she says. “Anything greasy, fatty or salty is not good. The dog would end up skipping meals, waiting on the bacon.”

The pooch was eventually diagnosed with pancreatitis.

Woodward says human food has fat, grease and spices and these things can cause dogs to have upset stomachs, bloating and gas.

Additionally, she says, humans eat fatty and greasy foods “and, as a country, are overweight.”

Most Serious Threats

Although dogs should not eat human food, Woodward says, there are a few foods that can pose the most serious threats to their health. This list includes alcoholic beverages, caffeine, chocolate, fat trimmings, raisins and grapes, chicken and turkey bones, onions, macadamia nuts, salt and sugar.

Woodward says alcoholic beverages can cause a coma; caffeine may adversely affect the heart and nervous system; chocolate can be toxic; fat trimmings can cause pancreatitis; raisins and grapes can damage the kidneys; and nicotine can affect the digestive and nervous systems.

As for salt and sugar, “It’s just like with humans, animals don’t need them because there is no real benefit,” Woodward says.

If you feel that you must give a pooch food from the table, vegetables, such as broccoli and carrots, have minimal nutritional value and are OK for dogs to consume.

“They serve as good roughage for dogs,” she says.

Nevertheless, Woodward says consulting a veterinarian is crucial when deciding what type of dog food a pooch should be fed.

No Bones About It

Many have likely heard that bones are not good for dogs, but some masters continue to give them as treats.

Woodward said cooked bones are brittle and become shards in a dog’s mouth and digestive system, leading to health complications.

Jamie Wolf, a pet lover, advocate and doggie day care owner, also does not believe that dogs should be fed human food.

“I feel it leads to a lot of problems — health and behavioral problems,” says Wolf who owns Pet Lover Central in Boca Raton, Fla.

She adds that feeding a dog human food teaches a pooch how to beg. Human food is also nutritionally unsound for them.

Wolf says dogs that are given human food are typically overweight.

At her doggie day care, she encourages her clients to resist making their dogs “little humans.”

Even though pet parents may want to give a little bit of eggs or burgers, they should realize that there will be serious consequences.

“Everything has a much bigger affect on them,” she said. “One serving of bacon is like a week’s worth for them.”

Wolf says that she can spot a dog that is not receiving proper nutrition because it is eating human food or poor quality dog food because of shedding or a poor coat. She says what is going on in the inside will show in the dog’s appearance. This could also mean cloudy eyes.

As with humans, dog’s diets determine longevity.

“What you feed them really determines their life span,” she said.

Stop Your Beggin’

Woodward says that it is not too late if pet parents have been slipping their pooch a few scrapings from the table.

“Stop rewarding them,” she says, to correct the bad behavior. “They do what works, and if it doesn’t work, they don’t do it.”

Setting the human’s and dog’s mealtime together but in different areas of the home can also correct the behavior.

Woodward adds that if a pet parent cannot resist rewarding a pooch, she should buy a toy that can be filled with dog food or treats that have a nutritional value and “spoil away.”

A Kong is filled with food or treats and keeps dogs busy because it takes energy and time for the dog to get to the inside.

According to the Plymouth District Attorney, Peter Pearson, 51, was arrested on Friday night and now faces additional charges of aggravated rape, kidnapping for sexual intercourse, assault with a dangerous weapon and impersonating a police officer.

Law enforcement officials said the arrest is the result of allegations from a second victim who came forward to police.

Pearson had been freed on bail earlier in the week after pleading not guilty to stalking and raping a woman at gunpoint in Brockton while posing as a state trooper.

He will be arraigned in the Brockton District Court.

Pearson is on unpaid leave from the Boston Fire Department.

SHE SHOULD BE PUT TO DEATH!!!! SEAN MICHAEL SHOULD HAVE HIS GENITALS REMOVED AND BE LEFT FOR DEAD!

AN ANTONIO, TX — A mother and her boyfriend are in jail, accused of trying to sell the woman’s 5-year-old daughter for sex.

Jennifer Richards and Sean Michael Block are being held in the Geo Federal Jail Downtown.

The two were picked up earlier this week after FBI agents arrested them with the help of a confidential informant.

News 4 obtained the court documents that laid out the FBI’s investigation. The FBI says Block sent a text message to the informant that said: “Nice piece, five-years-old, belongs to my GF and she wants to sell.”

The informant then talked to Block on the phone and again, according to court documents, Block told the informant - “Jenn had a five-year-old daughter that she desired to have engage in sexual contact with and adult male.”

The FBI then says Richards began talking to the informant on the phone and sent pictures of her five-year-old and 10-month-old daughters to the informant.

The FBI says Richards told the informant these sexual interactions would be a positive experience for the five-year-old. All she wanted, according to the FBI, was for the informant to furnish an apartment and an used automobile for the sex.

The FBI says this information was enough to put the two in jail.

Block is facing charges of sending child pornography over the internet. Richards is facing a federal charge of trying to sell her daughter.

Both will have a bond hearing in front of a judge on Friday.

Patrick “Booger Red” Kelly was convicted of engaging in organized criminal activity Thursday after jurors deliberated about two hours. He faces a possible life sentence.

Prosecutors alleged Kelly was a member of the so-called Mineola Swinger’s Club, though the 41-year-old Kelly has testified he is innocent. They contended Kelly helped set up a “kindergarten” where young children learned to dance provocatively. To help perform at the club, prosecutors say the children were given Vicodin-like drugs the adults passed off as “silly pills.”

Mineola is about 85 miles east of Dallas.

EDINBURG, Texas — A grand jury indicted a nearly half-ton, bedridden woman Thursday in the death of her 2-year-old nephew.

Mayra Lizbeth Rosales, 27, was indicted on one count of first-degree murder and on one count of injury to a child in the death of Eliseo Gonzalez Jr. Rosales previously had been charged with capital murder.

The grand jury indicted her after a full autopsy confirmed investigators’ suspicions that the child died March 18 because he had been struck. Investigators believe the toddler was struck at least twice, crushing his head.

Authorities recommended Rosales’ bond be set at $150,000.

The boy’s mother Jaime Rosales, was charged earlier with injury to a child because she allegedly left her son alone with his aunt. Her bond has been set at $100.000.

Prosecutors have to work out how Mayra Rosales will be detained and prosecuted because she weighs nearly 1,000 pounds. She is unable to fit through a door to leave her home. As of Thursday evening, she was not in custody.

Both Hidalgo County District Attorney Rene Guerra and Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Trevino promised that Rosales would somehow face the charges but they had little details about how that would happen. Trevino said holding her at the Hidalgo County Jail for her trial would be impossible because she needs extensive medical care.

“She would die,” said Trevino in Thursday’s online edition of The Monitor in McAllen.

Nevertheless, she will soon face arrest, he said.

RALEIGH, North Carolina A mental patient died after workers at a North Carolina hospital left him in a chair for 22 hours without feeding him or helping him use the bathroom, said federal officials who have threatened to cut off the facility’s funding.

The state sent a team Tuesday to help Cherry Hospital in Goldsboro draft new procedures to ensure patients receive proper care.

An investigator’s report released Monday found that 50-year-old Steven Sabock died in April after he choked on medication and was left sitting in a chair for close to a day at the facility about 50 miles southeast of Raleigh. Surveillance video showed hospital staff watching television and playing cards a few feet away.

Federal officials have threatened to cut off funding because of Sabock’s death and a report that a physician punched a patient after the teen bit the doctor.

Department of Health and Human Services spokesman Tom Lawrence said the state team also may investigate what, if any, disciplinary action should be taken after Sabock’s death.

Lawrence said the Sabock incident is isolated but that officials are concerned.

“It’s not the kind of thing that we in our wildest dreams would expect to happen in our hospitals — in our wildest nightmares, I guess,” Lawrence said.

Sabock’s father, Nicholas, declined comment when reached by telephone Tuesday evening. A man who answered the phone listed for Susan Sabock, Steven’s wife, hung up without commenting.

The investigation released Monday said Sabock died in April after Cherry Hospital nurses left him unattended in a chair and did not feed him or help him to the bathroom.

The report said Sabock sat, unattended, in the room for four work shifts. The report also found that Sabock, formerly of Roanoke Rapids, ate nothing the day he died and had little food in the three days preceding his death.

The state has until August 23 to file a report with the Centers for Medicaid & Medicare Services detailing what changes officials are making, Lawrence said.

If the center rejects the report, federal funds will be cut off beginning September 1, Lawrence said.

Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Dempsey Benton said in a statement that nurses may be reassigned to provide more patient supervision. Officials are also considering better ways to manage staff resources, he said.

A patient in New York died in June after she waited in a hospital’s mental ward waiting area for nearly 24 hours. Security video showed her writhing on the floor. It was nearly an hour before someone else flagged down a staff member who got help for the unresponsive woman.
