Experts Plan More Tests on Charles Manson’s Ranch
SAN FRANCISCO — Forensic experts plan to go back to the remote ranch where convicted killer Charles Manson lived before his arrest to do more testing to decide whether to dig in search of bodies.
Experts went to Barker Ranch in Death Valley National Park last month in search of possible unmarked graves of victims of Manson and his followers. The group stayed at the ranch just before their arrests for multiple murders in 1969.
A team from Tennessee’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory will analyze soil for chemical markers that match those released during decomposition of human bodies.
Officials say they will decide whether to dig after these test results are revealed around April 25.
